README FILE FOR HOBO DATA - PCAPS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Questions? Contact me! Sebastian Hoch (sebastian.hoch@utah.edu) or 801-581-7094 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are 4 files 1) Temperature transect along the West Ridge of Grandeur Peak (east sidewall of Salt Lake City basin): hobo_grandeur_v1.csv 2) Temperature transect along the Harkers Ridge (west sidewall of Salt Lake City basin): hobo_harker_v1.csv 3) Temperature transect in and out of the Bingham Canyon Mine (from bottom of mine to the Jordan River. hobo_kennecott_t_v1.csv 4) Relative Humidity transect in and out of the Bingham Canyon Mine (from bottom of mine to the Jordan River. hobo_kennecott_rh_v1.csv Note that the format of 3 and 4 are the same, but only some of the hobos measured RH - thus the frequent occurrence of the missing value of -99.99. Temperatures are in Degrees Celsius, Relative Humidity values in % ----------------------------------- ALTITUDES GIVEN ARE APPROXIMATE !!! ----------------------------------- Altitude values were taken with a handheld GPS altimeter and/ or a altimeter watch - both of questionable quality. The GPS was sporadically calibrated with the GPS altitude. I plan to compile a list of all readings taken at the sites. ----------------------------------- Format explanation ----------------------------------- Line 1: Short names of hobo sites (Gl = Grandeur Line; HL = Harkers Line; Im: in mine; OM: outer mine; Kl: Kennecott Line (outside mine property). Line 2: Planned Elevation of Deployment Line 3: Latitude (handheld GPS) Line 4: Longitude (handheld GPS) Line 5: Elevation Estimate (estimate from handheld GPS, altimeter watch) Line 6: Hobo index Line 7: Column index Line 8: Column description - date/time columns (UTC), serial numbers of hobos. Note that some hobos have been replaced by others during the experiment - this does not reflect in the serial number column, which lists the number of the hobo initially deployed. Line 9-xxx the data. Enjoy! -Sebastian
